Baby C moving/kicking...

After getting off work today, I was relaxing on the couch when all the sudden I feel Baby C moving and or kicking like crazy. She was VERY active for a solid 5 minutes. What a touching experience, as it brought tears, of excitement and amazement, to my eyes!
Now I know for sure that I have been feeling Baby C for several days (seldom and randomly)
I am just so excited and look forward to what's coming ahead in this pregnancy. I can NOT wait until Scot will be able to feel his little baby girl moving and kicking all around. :)

NASCAR

We went to Dallas for the NASCAR race. Baby C's "1st" race, but defiantly NOT her last! During the race, about 3-4 times I feel, what I think is her kicking/moving around. So AWESOME! What a neat and amazing feeling. Hopefully she was having fun listening to all the loud cars zoom by...

Sonogram#5 & Dr's Appt

Today was my scheduled dr's appt and 18 week, 5 day sonogram. Today was suppose to be the day that we found out the sex of our baby but since we had a sono last week, we got to find out a little early. :) This sonogram, the technician checked EVERYthing. All the organs, ie: heart and all the 4 chambers, liver, kidneys. She also checked all the limbs on baby c and the growth to make sure the due date is still accurate. All the organs and limbs looked GREAT!! Couldnt be happier.
The technician said that the due date is exactly right on, due date is still April 1, 2010. Baby C is weighing in at 11 oz today! She is growing, growing, growing... As well as I. :) I have gained 8 lbs so far. Dr. Carrasco said baby c looks good and the sono was great, so he will see me back in 4 weeks.
** My very favorite sono picture so far is pic #5 (of the legs, feet, and ankle) The picture is just so perfect: you can see all the toes, the feet, the ankle, and the legs so perfectly. LOVE IT. The 2nd picture is so neat also as you can see all of her fingers on her hand. You can also tell by all the previous and current sono pictures, she loves putting her arm and hand by her face! :) So sweet.....

Its a G-I-R-L

Today we went to Lubbock for the Texas Tech (vs. Kansas) football game. Texas Tech won 42-21. It was a great game!
After we got back into town, we went over to my parents (Nana & Pop) house. My sister, Rebecca, and all of her family meet us over there as well. (Since my other sister, Christi, lives so far away and not able to join us .... I filled her in on the news the day that we received the sonogram. Wish she could be here but since she can't, I give her as many perks as I can!!)
We gave everyone a sack with some goodies, ie: "It's a girl" note card, pink mints, pink baby bracelet, and pink baby pins. Everyone opened them at the same time ... we were all excited and thrilled and that we are having a little baby girl. :) Great day!

Unexpected Sono #4

This morning I called the dr's office because I have been cramping and hurting for 3 days.....they said to go home from work - put my feet up, drink lots of water, and to come in for a sono in the afternoon; just to make sure everything is ok.
Of course I came home, rested, and when it was time- me & Scot went to go get the sono performed.
The sono tech said that everything looks GREAT and normal! YEAH! What a relief. Once she saw that everything was looking good, she asked if we wanted to find out what gender we were having. And with NO hesitation, we of course said- YES!
She preformed my first external sonogram. As we were looking at Baby C moving around, the technician said, you are having a .......... GIRL! Wow, we are so excited and thrilled. This was such an exciting moment. The exam turned out to be a wonderful visit: everything is normal and we are having a baby girl. :) The first picture is showing us that it is a g-i-r-l! The second picture is a 4D pic of her face with her sweet little arm and hand in front of her face....
We decided not to tell the family until both me and Scot could be there at the same time. So, we have set up a family meeting for Saturday, 10-31-09 to tell everyone. Can't wait!!

Bouncing Around

Well today (Sat. Oct 10, 2009) was the day that we got to do another sonogram by my cousin, Randy. This was so much FUN and AMAZING! Some of my family got to be there to see and watch Baby C. (Scot, my mom, dad, sister - Rebecca, cousins - Laura, Emily, and Randy)
At first, Baby C just wanted to sleep, sleep, and sleep. But of course, we did not let her/him. :) And every time we nudged Baby C, she/he would move and stretch a lot. So VERY cute. Baby C would keep moving and throwing her/his arms and hands around her/his face. Loved how Baby C was jumping around. We have a few videos to share from today. We will keep posting and hope you enjoy.
Everyone had really good time and enjoyed watching Baby C. This was my dad's (aka: Pop) first time to see a sonogram; so that was so much fun to watch him and his excitement.
Thank you SO VERY much to Randy and the Kotara Family. We can not thank you enough for the priceless videos and pictures of our little miracle. We are so lucky to have had this opportunity and look forward to more! Love you all.

15 weeks

Today is Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009. And I am still so happy to be in the 2nd trimester!! I have been feeling so much better. My nausea is few and far between. Now if I could just get rid of these headaches.... but Dr. Carrasco said these headaches are normal right now, due to all the hormones. Cant wait til they are also few and far between. :)

Randy called this evening (my cousin, which is a RN and a Echo/Sono tech) and said that they got a new machine and that he would like to do a sonogram! WOW. How AWESOME is that?!? Therefore, we have scheduled a sonogram on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009.... CAN NOT WAIT til Saturday. My family is going to get to go and see Baby C also. My mom, dad, sister and her family- my bro in law and kiddos! Woo hoo.

Dr. Visit #2

Today we had our 2nd dr's visit and our 3rd sonogram! We went over pre-natal vitamins, because I stopped taking pre natals due to nausea. But every since I stopped taking them, I have been taking 2 flintstone vitamins with iron and 1 folic acid tablet. Dr. Carrasco said that this was perfectly great! I am so glad because this combination has helped me with my nausea.....
Also, I have gained 3 lbs. Dr. Carrasco said this was good. :)
The sonogram went so good. Baby C was sitting Indian Style (legs were crossed) with his/her hands close to the face. We could see Baby C's fingers wiggling and moving all over. That was our favorite part, seeing all the individual fingers! So cute and sweet. The heart rate was 156/min.

The next visit and sonogram is on November 3, 2009. This will be the visit that we will find out Baby C's gender. Oh My Gosh, we are SO EXCITED. We will get to see our Brooke Nicole or Seth Thomas. As of right now, these are the names that we have chosen for Baby C.

We Made It!

14 weeks! woo hoo. This is the beginning of the 2nd trimester. So excited that we have now passed the 1st trimester. This is a huge relief since the 1st trimester is the scariest and most important...
Looking forward to this wonderful journey.

Dr. Visit #1

This is an exciting day. We get to go to our first dr's appt. We did have a sono 5 weeks ago but did not visit with Dr. Carrasco.
Dr. Carrasco went over the basics with myself and Scot. We just talked about the pregnancy, classes to take, a pediatrician, and any questions that we had.
Then it was time for our second sonogram. Unbelievable! We are amazed at the growth of Baby C in just 5 weeks. This was no longer a flashing dot. Baby C looked like a tiny baby. :) We now could see the head, torso, arms, and legs. Extremely fascinating. He/She was waving to us. Loved it! Baby C was so active and moving all over the place. We got to hear the heartbeat, 174/min.
What an emotional day for the Castleberry's. Incredible to see the miracle growing inside.

Our first.....

I called Dr. Carrasco's office (this is the ob/gyn that will be caring for me during the pregnancy) yesterday to let them know that I have been having severe cramps and a lot of pain in my stomach. Dr Carrasco wants us to go ahead and come in and have a sonogram in the morning. Even though I am not bleeding, he just wants to make sure everything is ok.
Scot & I get to the dr's office for the sonogram this morning. Both of us is scared and excited.
The sonogram went perfect! The sono tech was looking and said, there is the baby. Are you kidding me? All we saw was a dot. But, this dot started flashing and the tech said that is the heart beating. Tears just started coming to our eyes. Yes, this is real. There is our little miracle. The assured us that everything looked good and the baby was in the right place! :) I can not even describe the excitement, joy, and happiness that we were and are feeling...
This was our first scare, our first sonogram, but this day was also our first realization of us having Baby Castleberry. Nothing but pure amazing!
Thank you Lord!

One more....

OK, OK, OK..... I know. I have taken 3 already. Why another? Well, because I keep hearing and reading that its best to take a test when your menstrual cycle is at least a week late. Today I am officially a week late.... And the drum rolls.... #4 pregnancy test- positive! This is it, this is what has me convinced. Even though I am still shocked, I now know that we are having a baby.
Scot, on the other hand- is still dazed and confused. He is excited but just not so sure if he really believes all the pregnancy test. :) I just think it so cute and funny that Scot is stunned. I love it.

Yes, another one!

This is the next morning of our miracle news....
Since we never thought that day would come, we are having a hard time believing that this is real. So what did I do? YES- I took yet another pregnancy test. This is test #3. And guess what, this test was positive as well. At this point, I have taken 3 different brands of tests, and they all are saying that we are pregnant. But, it is STILL so surreal. When will we believe that this is really happening, we are really going to be parents... I have never felt so many butterflies in my stomach before. I also can not stop smiling.... while Scot is still in a daze. lol :)

It's a miracle!

Today is Wednesday, July 29, 2009; a life changing day.

I was a few days late on my menstrual cycle. A friend of mine at work had some extra pregnancy test at home that she had brought up to work for me. I was under a lot of stress at work and had a lot going on. So, I thought the stress and me constantly thinking and wondering if I was pregnant all the time was the reason why I was late. Well, I went home at lunch as normal. Scot was still asleep in bed, therefore I went ahead decided to take one of the test. Scot had NO idea I was even thinking about taking a test! I just figured that it would come out negative and that would be one less stress. Well........... I took the test and not even a few seconds went by and the test said PREGNANT. What?!? Your kidding. I felt this numb feeling come over me. I was in total shock. I kept thinking, how in the world can I tell Scot? I wanted to do it in a fun way but oh my gosh, I had to tell him right now! I went and woke him up and told him he that he had to get up, I had something to show him. After he woke and got up, I showed him the pregnancy test, that had the words "PREGNANT". He held and stared and this test for a few minutes. Never took his eyes off. He was in a daze. He finally looked over at me and said, "Does this mean we are pregnant?" :) We were so happy and so in shock. Never did we think this day would ever be here.
Miracles do happen!! Such a glorious day!
Since I was in such shock and disbelief, I decided to take another test when I got off work. And yes, this test too was positive. Amazing! :)
